How to Choose the Right Wheel Fitment for Your Build
Share
Choosing the right wheel fitment isn't just about looks — get it wrong and you're dealing with rubbing, poor handling, or a wheel that simply won't bolt on. Here's what actually matters when you're speccing custom wheels for your build.
Start With Bolt Pattern
Your bolt pattern (also called PCD, or pitch circle diameter) is the number and spacing of lug holes on your hub. This is non-negotiable — get it wrong and the wheel won't mount at all. Every custom order starts here.
Get Your Offset Right
Offset determines how far in or out your wheel sits relative to your fender. Get it wrong and you risk rubbing on your suspension or fender lip. We build every wheel to your exact offset spec, not a "close enough" standard size.
Center Bore Matters More Than You'd Think
Center bore is the hole in the middle of the wheel that centers it on your hub. A mismatched center bore means your wheel rides on the lug bolts alone instead of being properly centered — that's a recipe for vibration and uneven wear. We match this to your hub exactly.
Don't Forget Load Rating
If you're running a heavier vehicle — a truck, an SUV, a dually — your wheels need to be rated for that weight. This is especially critical for off-road and towing setups.
Don't Overlook Rolling Diameter and Tire Sizing
A bigger wheel needs the right tire to match, or your rolling diameter changes — throwing off your speedometer, gearing, and even ABS calibration. We factor tire sizing into every fitment recommendation so your final rolling diameter stays as close to stock as you want it, even when you size up.
Why Custom Fitment Beats Guessing
Off-the-shelf wheels are built to fit a range of vehicles reasonably well. Custom forged wheels are built to fit yours exactly. That's the difference between a wheel that works and a wheel that's actually right.
